Four Years of the Avaap Change Academy: What We’ve Learned

This month marks the fourth anniversary of the Avaap Change Academy, a milestone that invites reflection on how far we’ve come and what lies ahead. Back in September 2021, we asked ourselves: Can we do this? Should we build or buy? What will it cost?

  • We leveraged our combined experience in Change Management and instructional design, piloting sessions both internally and externally to ensure that the content resonated and the logistics worked. 
  • In November 2022, Avaap officially launched the Avaap Change Academy to the marketplace.
Since then, we have expanded into role-based workshops tailored for three core audiences, helping participants understand how their roles influence change success and how to collaborate effectively with change leads. 

Why Experiential Learning Drives Change Success

One of our biggest insights? People value practical, experiential learning over theory-heavy sessions.

We also learned that change management (CM) remains a concept that is often misunderstood and unclear for many. Participants want clarity: what CM is, why it matters, and how it benefits organizations. We emphasize that CM isn’t a quick fix; it’s strategic, intentional, and grounded in science. 


We’ve discovered that clients often need targeted workshops for specific projects or organizational shifts. Listening to participants has helped us evolve our content to reflect current trends and challenges. This feedback loop ensures our sessions remain relevant and impactful.
We’ve embraced adaptability as a core strength, ensuring we can anticipate and respond to participant needs with precision and impact.

We invested significant time aligning our curriculum to achieve certification, reinforcing that CM is more than communications or training; it’s a holistic discipline.
